Festival trader life with my 5 year old...part 1 ❤

Single parenting festival/market trader and master juggler...that is me. My name is Dawn and I am 'Mummy' to my rather cute and very entertaining 5 year old daughter Rosie.

This is my 1st ever blog and all going well I shall be sharing our festival life and travel story adventures with you as we go along.

So we are 4 festivals down with 12 to go and getting settled into the festival flow. So far this year we have done Shindig in Somerset, Wychwood Festival in Cheltenham, the Leamington Peace Festival and The Beardy Folk Festival in Cleobury Mortimer. The weather has been mainly pants with a touch of blue sky here and there but really feeling like we are in need of some solid sunshine.

I love the festival life as does Rosie. We rock up in the campervan, I unload while at the same time create a funky fairtrade Indian shop. Rosie gets out all her toys. I then tidy the campervan and make a home, cook dinner and get Rosie into bed before falling into bed myself totally exhausted though always making time to read Rosie a bedtime story. Currently being anything to do with The Octonauts! After a good sleep we wake up and have breakfast...for me a strong coffee before opening the shop and then it's full steam ahead.

Living the 'normal' life of parenting, keeping a stable and happy home, cooking, schooling etc in a field full of happy people in fancy dress and eco-friendly glitter is to put it mildly...different. This is my job, my work, my income. Setting up and packing down in all weathers. Talking, selling and being on my feet for 16 hours a day...it is not easy but it is a great life. We love it and Betty the campervan is our home away from home.

This week it's GLASTONBURY and the weather is looking great! Finally some heat. We are both so excited. Keeping our fingers crossed for a busy, fun and prosperous festival 🤞
